Topic: My PII….. Should I be concerned

I have a 2011 PII with the 8″ slide master jack plate. Yesterday, I lowered the JP to level height to attempt “dialing in” the boat performance. After lowering the JP to level height, I noticed the driver side of the JP is flush to level. When I looked at the passenger side, the JP is 1/4″ above flush. Either the JP or engine is not mounted perfectly level. Anyone in the know, please offer suggestions! Thanks Richey Bolton

Tighten the bolts on the side that is flush, and then continue to turn/tighten/loosen the middle nut until the other side is flush. They hang up sometimes. Spray a little WD-40 to make it slide easier.If on the trailer, use your level to ensure plumb if you are still concerned.Mine have been off that much; usually closer to 1/8″ or less…

Thanks! I will try that. I did completely loosen both sides but could not get the passenger side to fall to even level. I will try the WD-40. Would this situation cause a performance issue?

Mine is the same way BCB told me that it wouldnt cause any problems.So I got it as close as I could and left it alone.

If you run a square on the plate you may find the holes are square to the mounting. This is a very hard one to explain, though there may be nothing at fault.
