07 Classic first time to need lights out after dark. No power to Nav lights. The anchor light was not working either but found the wires were pulled out of the receptacle. The wires seemed to small for the fit. So I am thinking the same is true for the front receptacle. Theres only one problem I cant figure a way to get to it (front light receptacle) to push it out to check the connections. Do I need to drill out the brads?
No, you need replace the actual socket, or resolder the wires and reinsert them to the prongs. Something has pulled those wires loose and if there was a depth finder alteration we would suspect that. Those wires were brittle in the 80s though in more recent years they are solid. BCB
Right! But how do I get the socket out of the front(Bow). At the stern I had to squeeze the socket to push it out. Cant get underneath in the front.Last edited by AlabamaCat on March 18th, 2008, 3:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.
You will drill out the head portion of the compression rivet and remove the base. Do not try to drill the rivet out, tap the lower sealing compression stud through with a small punch. Then you can handle reinserting a center or base. Just rerivet it with steel Cor fasteners.
