I just cant pay the $50 for the app on my iPad, but the iPhone app is only $10… Is it worth having? Is the information on there pretty decent? Does it show underwater contour lines for lakes/rivers b/c really thats the information Id Like to see.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
I like the iphone app, then if i get the urge to look at a map wherever i am i can. it has your basically contour lines.
I have it installed on my iPad and I love it. I can use it to help navigate river channels and mark fishing spots for later map study during down time. Well worth it to me.BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
hey man, check out: http://www.navionics.com/webappTake a look at that on your PC, and that will give you an idea of what the app is like for your cell phone.I frequently use the iPhone app, the cons are it doesnt use true GPS, just a triangulation method so its not real accurate. And if you dont get cell service out on the lake the “gps” wont work.but for 10 bucks I definately think its worth it.
I have the HD app (purchased 1 month ago) on my android tablet and since my tablet has gps its pretty spot on with my hbird 998. the only thing i dont like is i dont get the option for the sonar charts like what navionics website/video shows the ipad app has. the webapp on there site has WAY MORE DETAIL than the HD app i have. i emailed navionics a week ago asking why that is and have not heard back yet, which is the reason i bought the app thinking it would have all that detail.anyone have any idea of the Navionics + it shows on there site? says for ipad/iphone.Last edited by socalpIII on August 21st, 2013, 5:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I got it on iPad and love it
One question….When reviewing it on their website the lake depths are way off. Im assuming it is that way on purpose but the downloaded app is correct? For $10 thats a pretty good deal. Nothing like having a lake map at your finger tips for reviewing when your in a hotel room.
I would hope they are correct. The #s you see should be contour lines though and they might not go by water depth, they should go by difference in feet from sea level if Im not mistaken…. So the numbers on the contour lines will not match the depth of the water at that point in real life…. If it was “24” along a contour line, that doesnt mean 24 water depth it means 24 elevation, or what have you. Contour lines are usually drawn in 10 increments? Its been a few years since Ive studied any topo maps… These could be way different and I could be totally wrong… who knows..Or am I Correct?Last edited by polaris425 on August 21st, 2013, 8:49 pm, edited 1 time in total.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
KY lake is 1 increments. Actual depth is accurate or inaccurate depending on pool level. At summer pool it is within about 1 foot of fishfinder. This is on Android phone
