Have any of you ever had a chip go bad ?My front unit wouldnt show contour lines last two trips out, thought it was Lowrance networking issue. Swapped chips with identical console unit and wahla ! Another $165.00 re-fix, damn. But grateful it wasnt worse !Last edited by dbasketman on July 17th, 2014, 9:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.

try going to menu under tools and reinstall navionics . works for my h b 998 with a plat chip.

LA Elwood, I have heard of people trying to copy the card and it will wipe the card clean and you will be out the cost of the card. Pretty sure it was a security feature they had built into the cards, otherwise one guy could buy one and copy it for all of his buddies. Not good for the old Navionics pocketbook. They aint cheap, but doing so would equate to copying a DVD movie and sharing that.

If there is a LakeMaster chip for the water you fish GET IT!! Unless you have Lowrance units….then, you have to stick with the oldest lake data out there…another reason to run HumminBird!!JC

Mine worked….was an older card and they could have came up with some protections….did not think that SD protections have became that advanced yet….I also just updated my card and have five updates for a year…..so if the card is not over a year old then down load the new updates….Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud
