I just bought a 1992 pantera classic with a Johnson 150 fast strike motor. Had a mechanic rebuild the carbs and do some work.. After service went to the lake to try it out and lost the propeller. Best I can figure is they didn’t put the pin back in.. Anyone know what kind of prop and pitch I should put back on this boat.. ??? I am new to boating so I don’t know .. with all the engine work I can’t spend 500 for ss so probably have to go aluminum right now.. Thanks..
You might give parts a call and see if anyone has one that vintage. If not a local prop shop or a former OMC dealer may be able to help you out!
Dyna Prop inc.
Cape Fair, Mo “may” have something, IDK, their number is,
1-800-874-8280
Believe me when that prop cam off I thought about scuba and many other things.. 65 ft there though.. haha… it took everything, I have to order all the washers and pins etc.. Thanks for all the help everyone.. Food for thought. When someone works on your prop.. check it to make sure they put it all back one right… I’m pretty sure the prop was a 24 raker ss that was on there but I can’t be for sure.. 500 down the bottom of the lake.. If anyone has this year of motor let me know what prop your running and what boat.. I have a 19 foot bass cat.
That’s the craps about the whole thing.. I just bought the boat, took it to the lake and it alarmed so I took it to be worked on and when they did the work they didn’t put the pin back apparently.. I went to trial the boat on the lake and ended up with no propeller. this old of a motor is probably down on RPM’s a little.. Just wondering if it had a 24 Raker if I should go down to a 23 pitch.. I will have to go aluminum right now because i’m way in the hole working on the motor…
