My advice is to never tow with a cover on your rig. Even the good ones will scuff the gel coat. I learned the hard way towing with my Deans cover from Indiana to Alabama last year. From now on, I just tow without the cover, then if the boat gets dirty clean it out when Im back home.

If you get a hold of the guys at Aurora Canvas they can fix you up. They will have a pattern for your boat or they should.. As far as towing with the cover on you will have no problems if you follow the instructions on instalation. Aurora Canvas builds their covers to be used primarily for towing and storage. I do not have personel experience with Deans covers so I can not give you advice on theirs. But after working at Aurora Canvas for 9 years, and being the owner of one of their covers I know first hand of very few problems. If you will purchase a roll of the shrink wrap plastic at Home Depot, you can tow with a tarp without problems. Just go around the boat a couple of times with the plastic and the boat is protected; I have done this with good results. one roll should be good for 20 or so tows. jwt

As stated by badpuma and thomasjw, the cover from Aurora is very good and is custom made. I used one for years on a Sabre and have a relative that has used them on his Cougar FTDs without any problems. Following the instructions is the key.
