My Mayfair reirc pump went out today. Need to know which one to buy to replace it. Havent seen a pump like this before. Old pump is a Mayfair 500, model # 2250 Pro-Line Bilge Pump. Boat is an 1995 Sabre…

Thats not my problem. The question/problem I have is the old pump has 4 small SS screws where it connects to the valve. It looks like the the newer pumps wont work with the way its made. I know you can just twist the newer ones out. This old one had those 4 screws that were a pain to remove, just to twist(unlock) and there is no way to do an on the water repair/swap with this old pump. I dont see anything like the old Mayfair that was in the boat anywhere online. Might have to search harder

http://www.basscatstore.com/livewellandplumbing.aspxThese are the only two aeration pumps available today from Mayfair. They center stem to the aerator valve in the system. The nut on the stem holds the pump to the valve bracket. BCB

Thanks thats what I thought (OK not really)-I got to replace the whole pump not just the cartridge. Thanks

Got it fixed and ready to go. The confusion was the 4 screws on the pump. I found the exact same pump local and she is up and running…THANKS BCB-Nothing like some factory help on a Sunday..Oh yeah the pump is actually a bilge pump and someone stuck the 4 screws in it to make sure it didnt unlock on its own.Last edited by cherry on October 10th, 2010, 10:54 pm, edited 1 time in total.
