Need help!!!! Is this a fair price???

Guys I need some quick responses. Looking at buying a 1998 BassCat Sabre with a 150 Merc EFI. Scale of 1 to 10 it is a solid 9. No rips/tears in seats, clear coat is great. Ill list some of the stuff on itHydro Power lift jack plateKeel Guard 56# motor guide 12/24 trolling motor3 bank charger3 Interstate Deep cycle marine batteries (2 yrs old)BassCat trailer with brakes and new tires (Sticker still on the spare)SS 4 blade prop with no nicksOriginal owner used the boat 2 or 3 times in 10 years total! It was the “Dingy” for a inland yacht in Arkansas. Current owner (2008 to present) used it 6-10 times a year. Estimated total hours on boat is less than 100 (probably closer to 60 hours).Guy wants $8500 but will go for around $8000. I got to know by tomorrow afternoon 4pm. He is holding it for me to take a test ride in it. Ill try to attach photos.I am ****ting myself because money is tight but I really like the boat. Ill be trying to sell my golf clubs ect… to afford it.18ft90″?? wide or wider31 gallon gas tankoil tankIs this a good price??Boat was really dirty at the time of the picture because he showed it to someone else 4 days ago and a storm blew up and it got wet, then a he parked a tractor in the storage building and it blew dust all over it while wet. Look at the reflection of the trailer on the boat hull. It shines!What are some issues to look for tomorrow when we take it out?? Ive never been in a BassCat. Used to own a 16ft Stratos

ctfordIf the boat runs good, everything works and your comfortable with it, get it. That is a very clean rig. Doubt you will come accross another one that clean for that price again in a while.Good find and good luck.

make sure the floor and transom are solid. floor is pretty easy to tell. when you test drive it, gas the engine and watch for transom flex. if every thing checks out, yeah, id say 8k is a good price.

If it is as clean as you say, then the blue book is out the window and it is based on buyer demand. The boat should bring top dollar if the engine is good on a compression check. That is not a Power jack either, just a standard manual plate.

Tires are probably original and will need to be replaced no matter how good they look. The 2.5L 150EFI is a good motor.What kind of cover does it have?

The Sabre is an awesome 18 footer. You cant go wrong and will be very happy. Compression test is a MUST. Cheap insurance prior to the purchase.

Looks like the colors on my 97 PII, raspberry, white and sand(gold), exactly as I had ordered. Cept I had maroon carpet(dont ever want to do that again). That is a CMC manual jackplate, but is a great manual jackplate that was used for years by BC. That engine is workhorse!Get the engine checked out thoroughly, check out transom, floors.If you can swing it, it would be a good buy, BUT, dont get in over your head, if money is tight!After I bought my used 96 Eyra, it was till a month before it hit the water. I did some routine maintenance and drained lower unit only to find out that it needed new seals.
