Need Help to Install Trailer Back-up Lights

Have an 05 Puma with no back-up lights on the trailer (no brackets). Has anyone installed the BCB lights on a trailer without any pre-drilled mounts or hardware? Best position to mount, wiring tips & what hardware to use with the square aluminum moulded inside the rubber light moulding? Please share your tips, opinions & pics. Tried loading in complete darkness Sunday night by myself & well, my eyes arent bad, but theyre not so good in those circumstances. Did forum search & couldnt find what I need. Thanks for your help!

Bcb uses as you may know tractor lights to do this now. I believe? I heard tick tock(rp) drop a hint a few months ago that an update may be on the way? Id wait a month and see? Knowing rp he found a very bright reliable led to get this done? Mine is out but I wanted to wait.C.O.D. Jr. III

I put a back up light on my old Baycat trailer a few years ago. I just mounted the light on the last cross member of the trailer. I purchased two lights for my current Cat trailer about a year ago…just not gotten around to installing them yet.

I had ordered the 2 backup lights from BCB parts in May when I got Joe Compitellos boat so there is no waiting for the new tractor lights to arrive. Need to figure how to install what parts sent me. Keep ideas coming please!!!

They do have a new option coming to the backup lights. That will be available soon, though as with anything the cost will be about triple the tractor medium flood lights. Posiion the lghts on the top of the channel fo fit, Drill the frame while the boat is off, paint the hole to prevent rusting and bolt the backup lights on the frame.

Thanks BCB but still cant see what hardware to use. The light has the square aluminum mounting piece moulded so what bolts should I be using to then mount to trailer. Thought of a SS U-bolt but dont see how that would fit through the light mount. Isnt there a mounting kit available? As for the channel, should I mount to the first (from back of trailer) or second channel? Also, which of the trailers wires should I connect to? Thanks.

The lights BCB uses do come with a mounting kit which would not have come on a replacement light. They can definitely send you the bracket if you need that. BCB Admin.

Spoke with Pete in Parts & he is sending me the mounting brackets – thank you! Should I mount to the 1st or 2nd (from back of trailer) cross channel & wiring suggestions (wire color)? To everyone at BCB, enjoy your well-deserved vacation!!!

Considering the cross-member with the taillights as the first….then mine are mounted on the second from the back. do you have 5 pin connector for lights? i believe wire color is blue, and it is connected to brake lock out solenoid which activates when in reverse
