If you fish big water (Large rollers, big boat wakes) that would have your TM coming out the water, 52 inch. Otherwise, the 45 inch will work fine and not block the rod locker from opening with the TM stowed.
Either a 45 or 52 will work. The biggest difference is the length of the mount. the 52 will have a longer mount when in the stowed position. The shaft for a 45″ is actually 48″ long with a 3″ collar that gives 45″ of shaft. The 52 is a 52″ shaft with a 3″ collar that makes it 49″ usable. There is 4″ difference in length in usable shaft.
