If they are suppose to be so much stronger on the bottom end and mid range, it dont make since. Unless they want it to run at the 6200 mark? What prop was the Eyra that was built for testing the engine that was running in the 80s using? I may be missing something please explain.I could be way off but Ill take a stab at it. Its probably due to the boats age at 20 years. Bass boats tend to lose performance over time due to added weight from waterlogged foam, tackle creep, other added equipment. They also tend to have scratched, dinged, gouged hulls and many have lost their rigidity and straight lines on the chines and pad. Or, it could be as Old Timer said and they want these motors to turn closer to that red line point where the 2 strokes made their max power in the 5800-5900 range maybe the new 4 strokes make their max power at the top.
