Need help with trailer jack

Hi guys, I just got back from fishing and went to unhook my trailer and found that my trailer jack handle had disappeared on the way home. My question is how do I remove the old jack . It looks like I need two 3/4 in. box wrenches cause I can not get a socket in to the bolts. I have the welded on bracket for the jack to mount on. I also would like to know if there is a better jack that I could replace it with. At least now I have a good excuse to go fishing tomorrow LOL Thanks Ed

Some have a snap ring also. Others require a 12 point thin wall socket and some require a wrench. The factory should have the replacement. Replacing it with another Jack will reach require another weld on plate and painting, thus we suggest you go with original.

Wat jack do you curently have? The twin wheel? The standard fulton jack?

The xlt is a nice upgrade. I change from the standard to the xlt. It was a direct replacement. Much beefer.

Redngoo, My jack only has one bolt that holds it on to the welded on bracket. I did go to West Marine an looked at the XLT and it had a bracket already attached to it for a four bolt mount. We tried to loosen the center bolt to remove the jack from the bracket but no luck. I did not buy it since I thought Bass Cat would know the best route to go. I will call parts on Tuesday and see what optons I have. Thanks Ed

I guess if I put the bracket in a vise and use a socket an a wrench I could get it off. We could not get it off at West Marine but we were trying with just an adjustable and an open end wrench. It was tough holding the jack in place on the counter at west marine.My first thought was it should come off and then it would work on my bracket. Just did not want to buy it and screw it up and be out 130 bucks.When you replaced your jack was it a direct fit or did you remove the bracket?

Redngoo, I just looked closer at the picture of the XLT jack on the parts page and it is different than the one at west marine. The one on the parts page looks lie it should bolt right on. Thanks a bunch. Now to get it here by next weekend. Thanks again Ed
