Need prop reccomendation from BCB on about to be ordered Puma FTD

BCB,I am in the process of putting an order for a 2010 Puma FTD through Bowden Marine. I hope to have it ordered by this weekend. I am getting a Merc 250 Pro XS as motor of choice with the Detwiler setup. What will be the best prop (Merc website recommends 4 different props including a 25p Fury for this boats weight) for this boat & motor combo for the best all-around performance and excellent hole-shot? I know the quicker you get on plane, the less drag and overall fuel you waste getting past the high drag coefficient upper end trolling speed until the front of the hull gets out of the water.Thanks!Oh, if it matters, the boat will be maroon and white (Gig Em!). I am trading in a 89 Pantera that has served the family well. Its just time to trade it in. It will make someone a great older boat as it still runs great and has a hole-shot to plane time that is sah-weet! The family, and I, just need a little more room in the boat and a little more power than what we have right now. I also am looking forward to having a graphing depth finder in the front instead of the old Lowrance flasher, It still works good, but its high time to upgrade technology!Your Signature …

You will see if you search the posts on this forum that some guys on some hulls can push a 25 Fury, some a 26 Fury…..Every hull is a Lil Different and the motors can have variances…Id talk to Ivan at the factory 870-481-5135 and he will send the Best prop for most loads. He can also explain weight placement, a Motor Guide vs. Minn Kota makes a handling and speed difference, all the heavy stuff should be focused on the rear of the boat, lighter stuff up in the bow. Good luck and White and Burgundy should be pretty, what color pins,bottom, interior etc…..Charcoal would look cool as a pin, and Dark grey looks nice as a bottom, almost everyone picks black and Up North here we like boats that make a Statement and Originality. 26 Fury is the only prop that I would recommend to anyone that is in the same shoes as you. The reason being is that it will have a good holeshot in loaded conditions/summer heat. It carries the boat well in rough water, and will have a very good top end speed. Trophy props are usually a bit easier in the handling department and can achieve greater top end speeds, but thats it. No Tempest. No anything else props! Get a 26 Fury and be done with it!

CajunAg, Phil has the ticket. Just go with a 26 Fury and you should be satisfied. They usually work just great to serve the overall. We like the 26 Trophy for best top end, though the Fury is so user friendly and you dont give up much if any on some applications. Sure some run better with other wheels, though not much. BCB Admin.

OK. Sounds good to me. I need to call Bowden Marine to start confirmig appointment times and whatnot while I wait for my truck to be finished getting the AC fixed and a ujoint replaced under warranty. Im choping at the bit to get the Puma ordered and pick out the colors. Fricking awesome! Just got to get the truck so I can haul the boat and do the deal. Details details…futz!Your Signature …
