Need Remedy

I used large ty-wraps to attach them to steering cylinder in front of engine. Just dont get them too tight. Just tight enough to clear splashwell.

This is definitely a cosmetic issue we would like an answer to. Some brands put a liner in the splash well to cover it, and absorb that abrasion. We dont because the real reason was they had a huge amount of stress fractures on one brand. This was a simple way to cover the fractures and say they were preventing scratches in the rear rigging area. tshooler you can move and adust the rigging hose around by pushing/pulling some of the hose where it comes out of the boat. this sometimes will help.

You can also get laminating sheets. They are rather thick clear plastic with adhesive on them. Keeps from having a black square in the slash well. They will wear and are not a permanent fix but can be easily swapped out and are much more aesthetically pleasing. If you are near an airport, get some leading edge tape. Its clear and a little thicker and will last longer.
