Could some of you guys answer a question for me .I have a deal worked out on a new caracal,and a cougar ftd , does the caracal fish like a 20 footer? I have owend 20 foot boats for years now , and started thinkin I would miss a 20 foot boat and a 250 hp. I like how wide the caracal is, but dont know if I want to go back to a19,8and a 225 hp. The guys that have new caracal . Do you miss the size of a 20 footer ? And a 250 hp?
There are some owners on here and I am sure they will jump in here and address your concerns. From what I have seen and read I dont know how you would miss anything. The front deck on the Caracal looks like an aircraft carrier!Dan
bassahualic, Pardon our lack of knowledge on you, are you a Bass Cat owner and which model/year are you familiar with? If we know that we could give you a much better opinion.
Not sure but from all the pics Ive seen looks like not as much leg room, Im 62 and my cougar ftd has plenty of leg room.but that front deck would be nice if you fish a lot of team tournaments. Good Luck
No. This will be my first basscat. I just got out of a 20 foot boat with a 250, and after talking to Ivan at the collinsville boat show for more than an hour , and after having him personally inviting me to the basscat boats factory, and saying basscat wants to be a friend for life!! I was sold. And ready to make the switch form brand s.
You wont miss the length difference because its in the width. Fishes great, rides better , and runs,,,, well, it runs good ! Im spending the weekend in mine, and couldnt b happier with it !
In that case, the floor plan that fits your style is what would make a difference to us. Either will serve you well, track much tighter than your used to and handle with tension in corners instead of a loose feeling. Performance speeds will be similar to better depending on the decision you make.
Legroom in the Caracal looks to be pretty good because of seat placement. DB should be able to fill you in on that, seeing as how hes not a little boy!
