Finally got to get out and run my 06 Classic (200 Opti) I picked up last month. First let me say this boat is a whole lot more boat than my previous R boat of about the same size. It is so much faster and drives better even with my limited seat time. I need some advice on where I should go prop wise with this boat, so I am going to give some stat of my ride today.Air temp. – 97 FWater temp. – 91 FTop speed – 72.2 mph gpsRPMs – 5750Gas – 3/4 of a tankLivewell – emptyStandard fishing loadCurrent prop – 25p Tempest PlusI still had a little more trim to go but the smartcraft gauge kept beeping at 5750. This is a great boat to drive and would like to hear what other people with the same boat would suggest. Thanks,Troy West
Troy I would try a 25 Fury! Cheaper choices will be a 26 Tempest or 25 Trophy. Youll need to do something though. Youll be all over the limiter when the weather cools off. In addition, Ive seen 27 Tempest run well on this hull. Hole shot wont be as good, but it will make some fantastic top end speed if you set it up do so!
Hey Troy, glad you finally got to run the classic. PA is correct , a 26 Tempest or a 25 Fury would help it a bunch. Glad your enjoying the boat.Mike
Thanks for the help. The 25 Fury must run at a lower RPM than the same size Tempest. I would think I would need a 26 Fury but that may be too much for my boat. I guess the hard part is finding a Fury to try around here before I buy the wrong one.
The Tempest is the prop that is provided standard on a Pantera Classic and some do not upgrade it to the Trophy, and today even the Fury. We thin you would like to try a Trophy and a Fury to get your opinion on the differences. The Fury is a more selected wheel, though the Trophy does a fine job also. BCB
Bigt33 – Keep us in mind as you experiment. I have an 07 Classic same Opti but with 26 trophy plus. Curious to see how you make out with different props. Im wondering if a 25 Trophy Plus is a better choice or the fury. I have the 26 plus and a spare 27 plus, maybe I could sell them both and have enough $$ for a fury? My only complaint now is the blow outs as I come out of the hole and the bow drops. Unless I feather the hell out of the throttle it just wont hook up even when the motor is tucked in all the way. Top end is good, handling good, and gas mileage fantastic. Maybe I should leave well enough alone and just back of the gas on take off. Once she hooks up, she is a rocket ship. I havent broke 70 yet (close) but it is the driver not the boat. Seat time I think will get me there.

Bear in mind a second of blow out is normal as it planes.
Troy,I am running an 08 Classic w/ 08 200Opti and a 25P Fury. My JP is set even (inner/outer plate) and I am running 73.9 GPS (1 person, Full Fuel, Empty Livewell) and 70.8 GPS (2 people, Full Fuel, Full Live Wells). In both instances I am running 5800 RPMs and the hole shot is awesome. I would like to try a 26P Fury if I could find one. I also dont know if I should adjust the JP (not sure whether to go up or down on this application) because the boat runs great. My 10 yo can drive it to 50 (open water) with no issue (me holding the kill switch – lol). Let me know if you have other questions. The boat came with a 26P Tempest Plus, but it ran nothing like the Fury.Gerard
Hit Phil – All the plugs are punched on the 26P. I havent tried plugging them.
Try plugging one or try a cavitation/weed ring.
