Hello all Sabre FTD admirers, One of my customers,Halls1030 called me this am, we spoke of his 08 Sabre and how he likes it etc, I try to talk to all of my guys at least once a month, anyways, we were talking about the debate on motors on the Sabre ftd…..Last time out with himself in the boat, full tank of gas and his gear in the boat, with a less than perfect Raker 2,24p, he was getting 66.5 GPS SPEED, and Tom even said that was not all she had……I am really excited about the progression of Evinrude and Bass Cat, and having true real world data is outstanding……Now we are getting him a Fury if the pitching will work, measuring prop to pad, and try to set it up for a blistering gps pass, were hoping 68mph……..I hope info like this is appreciated and guys like Misr and John M have gone above and beyond to record and advertise MPG and Speeds, it really helps the buying process and the overall warm feeling of being in a Cat, I dont see the Other brands having this much excitement…….Have a good day guys…..Your Signature …
BWorner, I am very interested in the Fury Prop resutls. Man Halls must be strapped in his seat going that fast in his Sabre. Wow!!!! Hes much a better driver then I am….. All I can get on my Raker2, 24p is 65.1. Do you know where he is on his jackplate? Keep us posted. Basscats are awesome and great guys like you and JohnM17 have helped me alot in my boat performance endeavors…. Yesterday I was out and hit 64.5 and I know I might be able to squeeze maybe another 1 mph with my setup but chine walking wont let me get there. To bad there is not something to counter the rotation of the prop for better balance. What size Fury prop has Halls ordered for his Sabre/Etec setup? Hmmmm……… Birthday around the corner (grin). misr12
so misr how are those “WISCONSIN COLORS”doin? I met the owner of the marina that you bought from, Scott, what a class act, I would honestly drive 5 hours out of my way to stop and say hi to Scott, he is awesome…..Funny thing about Halls is the boat has not been touched since I had it here at the dealer, I believe it is flush? His Raker 2 has been tweaked by some rocks, but once you guys learn to drive it it will go faster, I honestly believe what Ivan told me at the show, 70mph may be able to be accomplished with the 150HO, I think in order to do that you need the hottest prop, which means testing and money, the right driving characteristics, BALLS,and of course the right water conditions, maybe im wrong, but 68 should be attainable……Im just happy that the INFO that I have spreading around, and yes misr as you know some guys didnt like it, thats why Im BANNED from bbc…..but guess what, I beleive what I tell people and most of the times it is coming from a good source or first hand knowledge……Kind of like when I posted that our Pro guy, got 83.1 out of his Cougar ftd, 250 ho combo, all the Merc guys said NO WAY, then the proof was posted……..Speed is an expensive addiction…..Im gonna ask BCB about the Fury, correct pitch on the 150HO “monster”…Im glad that we all stick together and that some of you have had the nerve to put either a Yammie or E-TEC on the back of their BCB, different is good….you can call me day or night with info and for “@+$% shooting”……..920-295-2069 Sicerely, OH MISR, HOW MUCH WOULD YOU LIKE THE MOTOR IM WORKIN ON????????? 175 H.O. E-TEC, 200HP 2.6LITER WITH THE LIGHTNING LOWER UNIT, IF THE 150 HO IS THAT CLOSE THE 175HO WILL WAX THE COMPETITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY THOUGHTS BUDDYYour Signature …
I wanna test drive a 200 HP powered Sabre FTD. Of course itll have to be an aftermarket deal like the Yamaha phase kits with the 10% rule. Then there are the pesky EPA laws to worry about. Trust me I looked HARD at the phase II kit whan I had my 175 HPDI. Man I miss the days when I could legally strap a 175 on the back of a 17 boat, and still get insurance on it. I am measuring my prop to pad from the inner most point of the concave pad area as a point of reference for the upcoming numbers. Thanks for the update, we all realize there are WAY faster boats on the market, but BCBs sure hit the ball out of the park on this layout with gas prices, garages shrinking, etc…
Have to call and get scoop from you on that one. Yes, Scott Brech is a great guy and dealer. I am sure I will get another boat someday (not for a while) and initially I thought bigger but after being in my boat since February 2008 I couldnt be happier. John17 comments are dead on. The Sabre is a perfect blend of convenience and performance for a very good fishing experience. The only thing I might re-consider is the FTD deck. Although, I love the BCB standard side hand rails. I really like that feature. Will call to get more info and updates regarding Fury props for Etec HO. misr12
Bworner, We need more comments from you on these boards. Your knowledge and support for Etecs is very good to read and informative. Please dont be a stranger. There are 3-4 very good opitons for motors and I am glad BassCat supports them all. However, my allegiance is towards Etec and having your input is very helpful to all Etec users boating experiences. Peace out! misr12 bworner wrote: Im just happy that the INFO that I have spreading around, and yes misr as you know some guys didnt like it, thats why Im BANNED from bbc…..but guess what, I beleive what I tell people and most of the times it is coming from a good source or first hand knowledge……Kind of like when I posted that our Pro guy, got 83.1 out of his Cougar ftd, 250 ho combo, all the Merc guys said NO WAY, then the proof was posted……..Speed is an expensive addiction…..Im gonna ask BCB about the Fury, correct pitch on the 150HO “monster”…Im glad that we all stick together and that some of you have had the nerve to put either a Yammie or E-TEC on the back of their BCB, different is good…

NASA would be better served with you in the program. You have a need for speed and I vote you be the first to drive that seup. I hope you get that opportunity. I wonder what a BassCat Sabre would do with a 200HP on her. Keep up the posts. I really enjoy reading them…. misr12
Hey Guys, Well driving a 200 ftd would not be that hard, ill get the EMM from the 200 small block, you guys provide the boat and 150ho….John have you played alot with your setup? I wasnt sure if you had a fury, and if you played with jacking up the Pro XS? What are your guys opinions on this years OI? Since I dont fish and will not fish, can a guy go there and talk boats, women and beer? Or is it all fishing? Im hoping to maybe meet up with Halls,Maxwell or Ron to come down or maybe I can bring a boat……Im hopin that BCB brings out a Pantera with a 225 rating, granted with the 200HO you do get 220-225hp but to have the 225ho on the back would be killer, 250hp on a aggresive hull design with all of the Fishing attributes…I try to come on here every couple hours but you guys know AL from BBC thinks im the SATAN WITH A ETEC, all because I told the truth about a certain brand of Arkansas boats and was talking HP on older XS motors>>> I hope we can all meet up some day, Ill bring the Cheese,Miller Lite, Jager bombs and the Chunky Girls…..talk to you all soonYour Signature …
Make sure your buddies @ BRP keep my warranty and I am there for ya my brother Keep the chunky girls in Wisconsin.
