New appreciation for my Puma!!!

The conditions at Toledo Bend for the GAF were the worst Ive seen them on a freshwater lake. 4-5ft rolling water and my Puma performed flawlessly. We stayed dry and felt safe at all times. Ive only had this boat a couple of months and its my first BassCat. Any reservations I had about keeping this boat are out the window, I love it! Dont get me wrong everything I own is for sale, but this Puma just got really expensive!!!

Precisely why you cant just tell people about the ride in a Cat. They have to experience it for themselves.

Hi Judge, Im glad to see your enjoying the Puma, you seemed to have some buyers remorse at first. You are lucky I didnt have the funds when you listed it for sale. It would be living with me now, its a beautiful boat! Neil.

I was always told to test drive a boat when the lake is rough because they all ride good when its calm. I think Saturday was beyond a test. Im not sure where you guys fished but I launched on the Texas side and made the run across to the take-off and then ran back across to Texas and up north a few miles. I wont lie and say it was a good ride. I did get wet but it was from spray being blown back on me not from spearing any waves. I dont recall taking any over the bow. Jim, we fished north at mouth of San Miguel all day. We got a little spray but never speared a wave. When we would come down off a big wave it would jar your teeth but the response of the boat allowed me to make quick adjustments that made the ride tolerable. Like I said always felt safe. My 22ft Bullet would have made the run but me and Darren would have to have kidney or spine surgery after the ride. Haha!!

Yall didnt have too far of a run but it was directly into the wind. With different weather conditions, I may not have gotten as lucky as I did, but I wish it had been more hospitable so that everyone could have enjoyed it more and fished where they wanted. I think several guys were on better fish but didnt want to risk going to them or, in my case, couldnt stay out in the open and stay on them. You just never know. We all had to deal with the what was given us.
