I have been using them since last spring with good results. My most productive method is weightless with a 5/0 screw lock hook. Just swim them very slowly and pause them every now and then. One thing about that Lake Fork Magic Shad, take you some scissors along with you. There is a LOT of plastic in the gut of that bait, and you may need to do a little “surgery” on them to remove or loosen some of that plastic, so that you get good hook penetration. They are great around grass and cedars, and when the shad spawn is on around docks later this spring they are gold.

I Texas rig the 5″ magic shad on a 5 0 Owner rigging hook it has a wide gap and the hook is shorter so it wont interfere with the segmented. tail. I also wrap 3 Storm suspends strips on the hook shank. This will let you work it a little faster with out rolling or comming to the surface. This bait is killer over grass. Watermelon red has been best color for me.
