First off, I would like to thank the guy at Bass Cat and Tommy Yetts at Rockwall marine. I purchased one of the 2011 show specials, Puma AE w/ 225 Pro XS and I couldn’t be happier with the product or service that I have received.Couple of questions1. This boat seems to ride with very little bow lift. Is this normal for this hull? It has a 25p Fury, the inner plate is 1-5/8″ above the outer plate and is running 72 mph @ 5800 rpm at 5/8 trim. If I trim up more it starts to chine which Im learning how to deal with.2. I have the NexSysLink gauges and I can’t seem to find where I can get the MPG stats. I can get the GPH and the speed so I believe it is available.

Id probably drop the engine to near flush between inner and outer plates, then its just seat time, and game on ! The 25p Fury is the shizzle on that set-up, congrats, D.

Its probably not gonna have a lot of bow lift with a Fury prop but it will perform great.

My boat has the older smart craft gauges and GPH/MPG is based on the speedometer of the motor. My Merc speedometer never works as the hole gets clogged so that is not to be trusted. Last time I looked it was reading +40 MPG….

Im running the same set-up on my Cougar AE, same prop. I have incredible lift, holeshot, and top end. Lift is generated more with the engine running lower, and propped out correctly. Try it, i think youll be impressed, although you do have midship fuel tank i think youll still have ample lift. D.

Ill lower the engine some to see if that changes. Im not saying there is anything wrong with it, it just surprised me a little.The speedometer on the NexSysLink gauges is connected to the speed on my GPS so I know it is getting accurate numbers.

If you havent settled any chine issues then you havent driven it high enough yet on the trim to likely fully examine how much lift it has. Give it some seat time.C.O.D. Jr. III
