Yeah, yeah I know (tough problem right?)I am in the process of getting a new boat. At the moment, Im running a 2007 35th Anniversary P2 (for sale by the way), and I truly love the boat, but Im ready for a new one.Im down between another P2 and the Caracal. My seven year old likes to go now, and its a little tight on the front of the P2 with him and me.Ive considered the Caracal, but from what Ive been hearing, the Caracal is tough on guys who flip, pitch and get into tight places around docks, reed lines etc. My P2 is very nimble and get into all those types of cover. I was wondering what any of you guys who have bought Caracals opinions were on that. Ive heard from several sources the Caracals not great for flipping or pitching, or any type of “close in” work. Not sure if its true or not.I love my P2, and I really like the Caracal too…so I was just wanting to pick you guys brains about likes and dislikes as a fishing platform?Thanks guys.

no way I would agree with that.. Caracal being a shorter boat can get into places that bigger boats can not.Also, it is very stable… has more than enough space on deck and sits level in the water so that the wind does not blow you around.My Youtube video goes in to that in some details.Mo

Seems that with the wide front deck, especially at the bow, the Caracal would be ideal for hovering over your target to pitch, flip, drop shot etc. I myself love the new wider boats, but prefer the 19 foot class for turning around in a tight area, plus the garage space issue. Im in a 193 Charger which I adore, but Ive had it 14 years. My next boat will be a Caracal more than likely, but will defiitely be a bass cat. I fell in love with a Puma I fished from, but love that front deck on the Caracal.
