Im thinking about ordering a new P2. Has anyone looked into having the vinyl ester resin added. It is my understanding that it comes standard on the preium models but can be added to any model. Im wondering if it is necessary and how much it would cost. Looking to keep the boat 8-10 years. Please change my user name to Firecat
BCB tries to release the new models after the dealer meeting, Excellence In Action. The meeting is scheduled for August 2nd in Mountain Home. You can order soon, though no pricing will be released till the meeting for 2011. Your best option is to visit with your dealership and see how they would prefer to handle it. Though we have seen BCB in house do it a couple of different ways, depending on what they do to the new programs and how they alter them.
IMO you better really know you are going to keep it for that long to justify the extra cash.
We would not buy a boat to keep without the VE resin.
What is a ball park price to add it to a P2Please change my user name to Firecat
If I ever buy a new boat if will have the vinyl ester. At today cost consider it a investment. IMO why would you not get the vinyl ester.specially if your gna keep. Im sure the cost will justify2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Im hoping someone can give an approximate cost to add it. It must be expensive or they would add it to all of the boats. Please change my user name to Firecat

Its not overly expensive though it does impact competitive pricing. We use the best vinyl, the best carpet, brush contact instead of spray, build custom spray bars to improve aeration, improved special resins already since 2012 (2x), square drive custom screws and much more. The list is long on things BCB does. Let alone fiberglass full width transoms instead of a urethane 18 pound foam transom. Adding VE in standard on $30k boats would make resin costs of VE over three (3x) times the competitions resin on every model, thus it is standard on Premium models only.
Add it whether you keeping or not. Im sure it could be looked at like a kitchen upgrade in a house, a great selling feature and you would get most of your investment back on sale.

And yes I agree if ordering new it is worth getting, i wish it was available in 2010… I have to agree with this statement! Mine is a 13 model and though I hope to never have to buy another. When I was searching I seen many different things on boats that I liked[optionns] . And even as the newer bcb have come on the market I see things I like. So in reality its the business to keep having upgrade and changes that sells newer models. No different than cars, trucks, motorcycles and etc.even though I kept my last bcb 25 plus yrs. And always said I would buy another caracal when I purchased the caracal was not available. And then its brought back. But I got the p2 and I DO LOVE THE RIG!. And Im expecting to get many yrs out of her.not to start any ruffle in bcb earlier statement about keeping a boat for x amount of yrs and adding the vinyl ester is almost like saying if you want to keep your bcb you better add the vinyl ester. Is bcb saying the other resin want last? Dont get me wrong love my p2 and tell anybody in the market for a boat to buy bcb. Best built boat on the market. Hands down. Im just sayin2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
