Hi Jay, I had two of those boats – 2005 and 2006. The 05 had a 225 ProXS and the 06 had a 250 XS. A little different than yours but close enough for government work. Both boats came from the factory with the prop centerline 3.5 inches below the pad. This setup was perfect for the 250XS but I needed to raise the motor 1/4 inch on the 225 for top performance. You may have to do this yourself. I assume you have a manual jackplate on the boat? If so, what I do with each of my plates when I take delivery of the boat is to measure the prop centerline with respect to the bottom of the pad. Then, I take an icepick and scribe along the jackplate which leaves a small line in the aluminum. This is my starting reference. From there, I lower the jackplate in 1/4-inch increments and make another scribe. I do this for about an inch above and below the initial starting line I made. Then, take the boat to the water and run it. As you run it each time, note speed and rpm. then, move the motor up or down 1/4 at a time and make more notes. By the time youre done with this exercise, youll know exactly where the best position for the motor is. Each of these boats is a little different but BCB mounts the motor very close to the right position. It just takes some fine tuning on your part to get the most out of it. Also, make sure you run the boat with all the equipment youll normally run it with. In other words, dont go light. I hope this helps, Terry PS: You may also need to try a different prop.Terry Battisti
