new caracal owner

i was wondering if anybody could help me figure out a prop to try. at the moment i am running a 25 fury with a 8″ hydrulic jp turning around at most 5600 at full load. speed is some wheres aroud 70-72 mph. is this about right? nobody here in north ga runs one so i dont have no one to compare notes with!

From what Ive read on here (there have been several threads) you are about where you should be top end. There might be a MPH or 2 more there depending on load and load balance. I believe Ive read the suggested prop is a 24 or 25P Fury. If you do a search under “Caracal Fury” I think you will find several threads worth reading. Here is my post from another thread!Have seen 75 in mine. Pretty sure it doesnt have 78 in it while I am driving it. I have belly tanks and it will walk if you dont know how to drive it. I do know you better be on your ps and qs when doing 74/75 in this boat. Made a 50 min run last weekend with plenty of straight way to really test the boat. I guess because of the deep hull it really wants to bite with any little deceleration change on top end. Scares the crap out of you. I had lots of seat time in my P-2 before this one. I will say my caracal jumps out the water, but is sluggish getting to top end. I think the belly tanks prolong the boat from lifting out of the water. When it does, it takes off. Top end on mine stays at 74 and just under 6000 rpms.. I have atlas hyd jack plate.Hope this helps!

I have a 2016 with the dual rear tanks and have seen 77.25 Fury….you do have to drive it, and its not as quick out of the hole as my 2007 P2 (which is not a complaint, I know why, just the observation)Im in South Georgia.I love mine.Ill be curious to see how the new 4 Blade Fury Props run.

Thanks guys. I did see the thread on the caracal props after I had already posted this!! From what I am hearing so far on the fury 4 is its not living up to the hype! got a good friend thats on hartwell this week practicing for the tour event, and at least two different pros are saying that it want tote the weight like advertised! he was supposed to get me one of theirs to run Saturday or sunday over there but told me not to waste my time! hopfully I will soon have my pics up! absolutely loving my caracal!
