It was great to hear you and Cliff got together. We appreciate your business and welcome you to the Family. Cliff will take great care of you and I am sure you will enjoy your new Cat. Thanks again Mike
I owe it all to you Mr. Lott. Thanks again
Sorry, But BCB does not build the covers, but has them done by a couple of different builders. They are both quality covers and are NOT cheap, several hundred dollars each. Margins on boats are not deep enough for dealers to just “throw in a cover”. I would spend the money and get a good one.Congrats on being able to afford such a fine boat at such a young age. No way I could have done it at 23.Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN
oh got ya. thanks for input. i still livin at home so not got any bills and got a good paying 40 hr wk job. might as well go into debt early and get it over with
Yup, nobody “throws” one in. You pay for it either way, I promise you that. I had one with my last S boat and never used it because I keep my boat in a garage year around. Didnt buy one with my last Cat. Dont miss it much, but sure wouldnt mind having one, if that makes since. Congrats on the boat! Hung out with Mr. Pierce and the Andy Greene crew today. Reinforces even more why Basscat is such a fantastic company. Met Rick last year at the open house and talked a while. He came straight up to me today, one year later and knew me by name and every detail of our conversation last year. One heck of a business man and just a super knowledgeable guy.brittBasscat Strong!
The solution is simple, just wait a few years and maintain or build a better credit rating…….or if you “gotta have it”. Check the for sale board and get a late model Puma or Cougar that has everything, including a cover. Not just mine but a lot of others guys with very good boats for sale at a very good price, cover “included”. And FYI, a good Deans cover will run about $700.00Chuck
This is probably a little off subject but I cant help adding a little friendly advice. Which is: It is great to be the original owner of a boat, car, house, etc BUT if you were willing to consider a slightly used model you can usually save big dollars and get several additional perks (better electronics, boat cover, battery chargers, etc) without the higher original retail cost. In addition, depending on what state you live in you might be able to eliminate all sales tax (possibly a savings of $1500 or more), and you might even be able to get a larger rig than you were considering. I know from scanning the used bass cat for sale area there are lots of nice rigs out there with low hours on the motors and plenty of warranty left as well. Of course every bass cat in the last ten years is covered by a lifetime hull warranty, so that is not an issue.Anyway, the father in me just wanted to make sure you had considered all options prior to signing on the dotted line. I know I was able to find a good used rig last year that had less than 10 hours on the motor and would have been considered a “new” rig except for the paperwork. And while it had one blemish on the rub rails when I bought it, it still makes getting additional scratches and dings less devastating since I saved a great deal off the retail price of a completely new rig.Just my two cents worth!
i have been looking for a used cat for a while but havent really found what im looking for. most 08 models i find are 33-38 thousand. 09 models slightly higher. i didnt want a new boat because of all the little things that u have to deal with. but this boat is 45 k 2011 model 250 pro xs 5 yr warranty on merc. so i was just thinking for a couple more k i could have a 2-3 yr newer boat with full motor warranty as i plan to keep it for a while if you know what i mean. but if any of you guys have a rig for sale by all means let me know, and i have checked the for sale board. several times lol
JustinRivers,We at BCB understand your impression and these fellows have made good points on the situation. The boats are expensive for all and some dealers build in larger margins then “throw in” a cover free you really are paying for. We know one former BCB dealer who did this on every boat he sold. Covers really are expensive and a good Aurora or Deans will run at least $650 up. As much as we really want happy BCB owners, we want you to plan your future well so you can buy another new BCB in the next go round. Make sure your in a position long term to afford it and keep yourself happy without financing to where your upside down, or trapped in it for several years longer than you anticipate now. Best of luck to you on your decisions and the numbers do make sense if your down payment and payoff terms work for you. BCB

There are a few that can help in pieces on Dale Hollow. We hope you enjoy your P2 and it should do great on the TN lakes.
