Oh yeah, the internal vs external antenna question. Many folks say the internal antenna works even when in-dashed; but I cant help but believe that reception is degraded resulting in slower acquisition times and reduced accuracy. Like I said recently, my external antenna will EVENTUALLY get its fix even when in the back of my garage with the door closed, but the accuracy isnt great and it takes a while. So my personal preference would be to have whatever antenna exposed as much as possible for fastest and most accurate performance. So for an in-dash, go external; for mounting at a flat angle like on the bow in the well, go external; for console mounting on a gimbal or RAM mount, go internal. Also, the dual frequency isnt useful in bass fishing applications as its designed to give the 50khz low frequency option for depths of 300-1000 or more and wont do anything for you in 1-100 depths. Hope this gives you what you need but feel free to ask if you have any other questions. DekeDeke
