They all lose the signal at speed. The only reason they still install the 1440, and the only reason i ever turn it on ! D.
The BCB hull uses a lot of air for performance and ride. This packs air under the hull and ventilates the hull with increased bow lift and higher speeds. A Vee hull will not do this, nor will a hull with less performance ability. This is because they obviously are running more in the water. whereas a BCB is designed to run on top of waves more so. Again, some other hulls are made to run through waves at a slower speed than a BCB will top them. Tuck the nose and you should be able to retain depth readings up to from 48 to 60 MPH, depending on your trim range, hull, set up, propeller and load. This is also critical to remember when comparing rides, as rides need to be compared at the same speeds. We often find that hull Z, Y or X will run flatter and slower on a particular ride in waves, while the BCB hull will be driven appx. 4 to 8 MPH faster under those same conditions. That increased speed effects the ride as well. If the BCB hull were slowed down to similar speeds, the ride would tremendously outshine most others. Hope this answers your questions!BCB
bigspots, At speed the boat has so much lift (a good thing) that the transducer is out of the water. Only thing left is mount transducer out side, a bad thing if you fish shallow water with stumps etc.
Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the family!!!! You will like it more and more as you get to use it.Judd Lasiter
Thanks BCB for the response. I got to run her yesterday, and I experienced the same thing. My flasher and sonar lose their depth reading at about 4000 rpms. It makes sense to me what you are saying about the hull lift; the ride is awesome. I still learning to drive her, but I ran 78.6 at 5600 rpms yesterday, and there is more to get.If I mount a transducer on the outside at the back, will this cure my problem?Great boat, awesome boat. It rides and fishes almost as good as it looks. Thanks BCB.
