Make sure the uploads are for the exact units you have, or the link may not work.

Also, It doesnt do any good to try an load a 1197 update on a 998 machine. Wont work. Any fix for interlink is very specific to your units and your interlink box (first generation HB units).

just got done with it.first and foremost you must have the cables to each unit whatever model# and have the most recent software in them BOTH !! i have a 998ci at the wheel and a 788c up front. READY TO GO FISHING!!!!

Sam,I think you have a 997 and 957 correct? Contact HB and request they send you specific files to interlink them. Theyll send you the interlinking fix for your 997 and 957. Copy these files to a SD Card and put them in your HB units. Turn on your HB units and follow the prompts to update the software in your units to interlink and share data correctly. We have just received the latest information from Humminbird on several of these topics. They are diligently working to resolve all issues and are also very entwined in the Ethernet system and that software. BCB

No, the Interlink is a different connection and uses a separate box to communicate. The Ethernet only uses a cable with silver twist ends like a radio connection between the units. Older units will not be compatible with the new Ethernet system.
