Just had my car mechanic install my new axle last week. When I picked up the boat/trailer I noticed some grease on the outside of the hub and asked the mechanic if he added grease to the hub, he said he did. I never told him to do that and thought I heard not to add grease to these systems for fear it will compromise the seals. Just wondering if this will shorten the life of this newly installed hub ?? And one other question, my original hubs were Vault. Can the Vault caps be placed over this system, doesn’t look as tidy as the Vault system ?
