The 20 footers are already rated for 300s, but few put them on there. Ive heard there isnt much difference in performance to offset the difference in cost. Also, most tournaments are still limited to 250 HP arent they. But, things may be different with the new jaguar. Well just have to wait and see. DPT2005 already let you in that we broke that mold already. The Jaguar will be more of a creature comfort rig…
If you need someone to take the new Jag through its paces I would be happy to volunteer my time and gas…I think Lake St Clair would be the perfect proving grounds. I only live a few miles from there so I am sure I could squeeze some time into my schedule.. Just let me know when you ship my test boat to Sherms… Seriously I am looking forward to seeing the new boat…It may be perfect timing for when I will be stepping up to a newer rig. Just need this economy to level off some..

Just need this economy to level off some.. You going to put it in your ice fishing shantie? Sorry, I just couldnt resist that was wrong of me. I feel for ya this time of year as I grew up in IN and no one should have to deal with that type of weather…and it is worse up in your part of the country. AZ – IF (notice big if) Merc would come out with a 300 ProXS they would probably sell but when you buy from Merc Racing the warranty isnt as long and in the past they have needed premium fuel. With todays motors being so sensitive and blowing at times warranty is important also people is also thinking and considering fuel costs now more than ever…we all know where it could go. My 2 cents… Judd Lasiter
The 250 XS runs on regular now. Still, warranty is not as long as on the 250 Pro XS which is a production line model.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

In 06 they changed to reg fuel in the 250XS, you are right but we are talking 300s here Here is the link to the 300XS page and they still recommend 91 octane: http://www.mercuryracing….ds/optimax300xs/specs.php I still like the cowling decals better on the XS than the ProXS JL
Hey Judd, I feel the same way, the 250xs and 300xs decals are killer, 1 plus with the xs is you run the premium plus oil which is cheaper…….I know you could care less but this year their should be a 300 that has a 5 yr warranty…..its called the 2009 300 HO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRP did already bring the 300 DPLSE in a 20 inch shaft but I feel that lowerunit is more for a Ranger 621 or Triton 21x…….It does not flow as efficiently yet it does have the new low water pickups, the 6 nostrils on the leading edge of the bullet…….OH and watch for a insane lower unit to come up….go to scream and fly and search for the Magnum xp, I can email you picks…..See the “sportmaster” type of gearcase was a OMC design a long time ago……Their was some different “rumors” on why they stopped that line a long time ago also, something with a big wig getting hurt was what a engineer told me…..but this gearcase (magnum xp) will really let the performance guys jack their motors up, it will help the walleye and offshore guys, heck everyone will benefit……Ive been pounding them all year for the 175ho and luckily they have been listening……That motor will hopefully take a Sabre FTD to a REAL 70mph…..Our guys and Misr is getting 67 out of a 150ho so we figure the extra 25-30hp will help propel it past the competition…….Im gonna try and load the pics here….Brannon Merry Christmas Judd, oh and if we are both at next years meetings im gonna bring you a Wisconsin Badgers shirt to proudly display down south, or a Packers jersey but who knows if they will be around……Judd send me your email so I can send you the pics of the lowerunitYour Signature …
Judd, you are correct about the 300XS and premium…never even really considered going to a 300. That is for all of the competitors to keep up with the true beast of the 250s…the 250 XS. Hey Brannon. WE GET IT…..YOU LIKE EVINRUDE. You dont have to turn every single thread into a Evinrude sales pitch. If someone wants to know about Evinrude, then you have a wealth of “sales lingo” to give them. Otherwise, maybe lighten up a bit on the ETEC bandwagon. Maybe Im the only one here that gets tired of it, but I doubt it. Kent p.s. – I dont see any other dealers getting on here and constantly pushing their preferences – Maybe because thats supposed to be a rule or something. BCB – I apologize if this opens up a can of worms that should be left alone.Kent Charles 2002 Pantera Classic & 200 Yamaha VMax
You bet Andy! The new Jaguar is going to surpass everyones needs. It has more in it than you will ever use. The boat is a real step above what has been built by anyone to this time. Of course it will also come with a price tag to match that expectation. Tell your wife we are sorry to disappoint you, though glad we have. Figure that one out! The plug turned grey today just as we said it would and is on track for being covered up by glass real soon. We do not think it will be visible at the Invitational. BCB
Ill throw this one out there. Any plan to breaking the mold and going beyond the 250 HP for the new 21 footer? Since there is vertually no weight differences in the motor from a 250 to a 300. These cats are fast already, just seeing if there was an idea or a maybe. Hey George thats the boat for you. You would look great in that rig. You would just have to let loose of some of that pocket change you carry.
That is Ricks boat still there from the Texas Toyota event display. He is going through with draw since then. The weather and travel helped him till now. Forecast is pretty North Arkansas this week and he wont be as happy without it for the House staff there. LOL! BCB Admin.
I would look good in ANY BCB boat as long as I can come to work with you in June. I also saw your little secret boat out back with a Yammie on it too!!!!George
