Hey guys, about to get a 1995 Pantera II dual console with 200 Mariner EFI with only 129hrs. I want to add a hot foot and would like to know what to look out for mounting it and what length of throttle cable I will need. Motor is mounted on a 6 in. jackplate. Ill probably be bugging you guys with alot of questions over the next few weeks. Thanks, Dale

Make sure you are on the flat of the floor, check the Clearance to the outside chine area of the hull. It will need to sit in on an angle slightly to get the right alignment. You can also install the cable out the rear through the area by the gear shift, with a rubber grommet. Seal the screws with some form of Resin would be our suggestion. Set the screws into Epoxy or similar material. Use only Premium or Platinum cables from Mercury. Also on the throttle cable we believe from memory it is a 14 cable, though measure it to be sure. BCB

Be sure to check out the new Hot Foot Pro with Top connecting cable. It is really clean looking the cable can go up under the console. Use very short screws! I have one installed on my boat. Can post a pic if you would like. Good luck, you will love it.

Use a slide plate as well. Installation is a lot easier and simpler and is adjustable as well.

Measure at least three times before you drill !!! Ive seen several installed and screws thru the hull, and you dont want that to happen, D.

Thanks for the replies. I might add, I already have an original Hot Foot for it. Would you happen to know the part number for the Premium or Platinum throttle cables? Are they that much better than a Teleflex cable? Another idea I had was making a mounting block out the plastic material that butchers blocks are made of. That way I could shape it the way I wanted. I will also check into the slide mount.

Over on the Bass boat Central site there is a guy that goes by LargemouthLou. He is primarily in the Bullet boats section and he sales a plate for a hot foot that levels the mounting area and it is made out dimond cut steel. They look real nice and I was wondering if BCB had seen them and if they approve them for our boats. Ive got one of Largemouth Lous diamond plates in my Cougar. Its pretty slick. It puts the hotfoot, straight in front of my right leg. Very comfortable driving the rig.

I have an original Hot Foot already mounted in my P3. I would like to upgrade to a Hot Foot Pro with the top connecting cable and a slide plate. Can anyone tell me if the existing throttle cable can be used, or will it need to be replaced? Thanks!

Got my new throttle cable and hotfoot ready to install. Does the old throttle cable have to be disconnected at the control box also or only on the motor end? Also, how far in on the flat of the floor does the hotfoot need to be for mounting? Dont want to go through the hull. Anyone ever tried using those screws and plastic inserts like you use in drywall for mounting a hotfoot? Just thought it might work giving a little extra hold rather than just using stainless wood screws into the floor.
