NEW MOTOR

I have an 02 Classic with the 3.0 200hp Optimax and love it! Have had the following props on, all 25s: Tempest Plus, Trophy Plus, Fury and now a Croxton Razor3 which is the best of the 4 tried for sure. I fish Calif. Delta waterways only which is huge and my normal starting places are all at least 8 to 10 miles from whatever ramp I use and unusual that I use over 4 gal. of gas on an average outing………….unless running on a tournament day all out. Excellent boat, great motor too!

Clayton, there are some instances where a Trophy has more trouble loading than a 3 blade, but imho, those are rare, if you are experienced with your boat/trailer combo. Your boat is an older, rear tank Pantera and the hull characteristics will be different than the Panteras of the last decade.My 97 Pantera II had the 2.5 Merc 200. I ran 4 blade Trophy without issue loading and also it ran fine on top end. I didnt give up any speed when I changed between my Trophy and my Tempest. The “attitude” of the hull seemed higher with the Trophy, the Tempest ran flatter.Best is to try a couple of different props, 24 and 25 pitch. If you have a 24 Trophy now, look for a Tempest or Fury as a second prop, and decide which one to use for what time of the year….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
