New Owner With a quick question

Hello everyone, I’m proud to say I’m the owner of a new 2019 Pantera Classic! Sadly I haven’t got to get it to the water yet, but can’t wait to try it out! Excited is an understatement! But I do have a quick question about something I can’t figure out, my little accessory panel to the right of the console with my lights, live well, etc. lights stay on all of the time, dem, but on, when I push one on it get brighter to let me kno it’s on, the only way I can get those lights off is to flip the battery switch off, is there a way to turn them off without flipping the battery’s all the way off? Thank you guys for your time, and any help is appreciated!!!

On my 2013 P4 the light on the pad turn on when you turn the main power switch on. I am not sure if the new models are any different. Basscat or someone with a newer model should be along to confirm soon. Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the family. Ed

I have the same rig and mine does the same. It is very dim in the daylight, barely noticeable, but obviously much brighter at night. Master power at the back is the only way to shut it off. I don’t worry about it as I am sure it is normal.

Well I got to take it out finally, rode great In some fairly rough water, I did get some fairly bad chine walking around 65 mph, probably mostly to do with my driving, this is my first high performance bass boat, I did raise the jackplate an 1/8th inch, gonna try again tomorrow!

Go to the FAQS section of this forum and read the chine walking article( very good article). Honestly by you saying this is your first hp bassboat you need seat time. Which is your best friend at this point!. Untill you learn to controll the chine i wouldnt adjust the plate. Just my thoughts. Bcb generally does a pretty good job setting the plate.

Agree with not messing with a thing until you learn to drive. Your boat is capable of speeds 5+ mph from where you’re at now. Know adjustment is going to stop the chinewalk other than learning to drive. Good luck. You have a very nice rig in that Classic!

I have the same boat, but am used to running Cats. It does like to dance at around 65 mph. I also lowered the jackplate incrementally, but wound up putting it back to where it came from at the factory, which is pretty well flush. You will need some seat time. Bump the trim gradually as you are up on pad. You will eventually see low 70’s as you get used to it. Mine has the Mercury 200 V8 with a 24 Fury.

Thank you guys for all your advice, I guess I jumped the gun on raising the plate, but I took it out and it ran about the same, so I guess I may leave it there for the next few trips and just see if I can get use to it before adjusting back down to flush, one last question, I just got the motor broke in on the initial two hours, and I can’t hold it wide open for the time being, so these next 8 I’m not really so worried about going wide open for more than five minutes, but something that brought concern to me, was when I crank the engine and it fires, there is a big puff of smoke, it runs fine, idles great, and I don’t notice anymore smoke, only when I crank it, and it does have me concerned
