New to Side Imaging – Mounting SI transducer on a Sabre

Ive had the side imaging ducer mounted to the jack plate and it worked fine. Id also install a puck style 2D ducer in the bilge area to maintain bottom while running and connect the 2 transducers to a Y cable which goes to your unit. This was the set up recommended to me and it worked perfect.

Sherm had mounted my mine (Lowrance) using the factory brackets and mounted to the boat under the jackplate but a lot of good options are available. Most important thing for best clarity is that your transducer needs to be parallel (level) with the water surface.

Look under my profile at the HDS Install pictures. I installed a Lowrance SS transducer on a 6″ JP using the TSS kick up bracket. No issues whatsoever in the past year. A little cheaper than the other mounting route.Last edited by RazorCat on May 1st, 2014, 5:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Yes, the holes are tapped. No, its does not interfere with adjusting jp.
