Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kevin, I live in New Jersey. I mostly fish the Upper Chesapeake bay and the Delaware river. I currently am in a 2008 Triton TR21X2 which I am selling in a month or so. Im getting a new motor put on. When I get it back I am selling it and getting into a Cat. I originally wanted one but it didnt work out that way. I narrowed it down to Eother the Cougar or Puma, just not sure which model.. In a couple of weeks Im going to go to a dealer and view them in person to make a final decision.
prop vs pad? in your experience what is the best height of the prop from pad and far as trim? asking a lot of questions but never owned a cat.
we love Verado engines and this is basically the output of the 250 Pro Verado, you do have to run Premium fuel to reach optimum. The propellers are in the 23 to 24″ range and we usually set those up with a Fury. Others have other choices and this one suits our needs. If you choose to go exotic then thats all in your choices.
Need more data to properly advise. What is your current prop, rpms at wot, hole shot and average load you run with.
I would think there is plenty more in that set up, Im not familiar with the V-Rod, but if its equal to the 250 ProXs as BCB stated, you should see upper 70s.As speck stated, we need more info. What are your RPMs at 70 mph? Current prop? Load? Live wells full? empty?
I will let you know after this weekend, I will be running it and taking notes. I know the prop isa 4 blade bravo 1 but not sure the pitch. First and only time I ran this boat was when I purchased it and empty, live wells half full and two people he got 73 and shut it down and I got 70. I need seat time for sure but will be disappointed if I dont get mid 70 with a tournament load.
Hello. I am new to this site. And Im also from Minnesota where there are not a lot of bass cats. Wonder if anybody can tell me about a particular model. I love the bass fish and Im looking at a 1999 Bass Cat Jaguar 20-foot boat. The guy was asking 17000 for it. Now he reposted on Craigslist and took away all the electronics and is asking $15,000 for it. Still seems high from what I can find out. Also wondering can anyone tell me does that boat have any wood in the transom or any other part of it? Thank you
The factory does not have records that tell if there is wood in that transom. The Jaguar in 1999 most likely is some form of wood or composite transom, not fiberglass. The only thing that can indicate if there’s a possibility is if the center floor drain area is smooth gelcoat under the floor drain.
