New Trolling Motor…What thrust?

I have a BC Pantera III that I am about to put a new trolling motor on and need some feedback on what would be the minimum thrust and voltage. Anyone???

I would go with an 80lb 24 volt minnkota or a 82 lb MG

I agree you will need at least 80 lb thrust as the P3 is a heavy hull, I run a 36V Motorguide and like the extra power and low amp draw (I have fished 2 days at the OI without charging in windy conditions).

24 volt unless you fish a lot of tournaments, fish in windy conditions alot, fish in current, or fish alot period.

I have a P III and a 74# Minn Kota 24V that was just rebuilt to an 80#.Its been fine so far.

A 24 volt set up should be fine. But if storage for more batterys is avaliable I would consider a 36 volt for long days of fishing or multiple days and speed if on the troller and moving spot to spot.
