Just bought my first Bass Cat a 2011 Cougar FTD. When I turn the key on all the gauges light up and set as they are supposed to. However the LCD display on the tachometer with all the information such as fuel levels etc only shows the time and date. When I push the up or down button nothing happens on the screen. Anyone else experience this problem or know of a fix. TIA.

Sounds like the touchpad. They are sensitive to having the wire ribbon failures due to bending in the slot of the console. Contact parts and they will most likely send you a new one (warranty).Your Signature …

Maybe its the connection of the touch buttons with the gauges. Be careful with the ribbon as they are fragile. If not then it likely is the touch pad itself. Be aware that 2011 model made may not be warranty. Good luck. Hope you get it resolved.

They are openly replacing faulty touch pads when that part is diagnosed.

Call parts and tell them you need the Up/Enter/down arrow key pad for the neyxslink link system. When you peel the old one off take a file or a drill bit and make the hole in the dash larger and chamfered on the edge where the ribbon will pass through the dash, then stick the new touch pad in place. Im on my 4th one now… parts will have one out to you in 2 days.

Fishing a tournament on Guntersville and all worked created yesterday, but today no go. I have just been under the dash looking to see if there was a problem and this was the first search topic that popped up. I will call BCB parts tomorrow.Thanks Guys.

Received my new cable connection today. Thanks Allen in parts for your help. I installed mine as directed and added silicone to the void around the cable in the dash opening. The thought is to hold the very tender ribbon cable in place and not allow it to rub and to help seal the back better. Took about 10 minutes to install. Thanks again Allen. Things work great.
