Has anyone bought/used the night stalker lites available from Basscat. Im getting ready to do some serious night fishing on Dale Hollow and hence investing in the right equipment to do it. Having them below the rub rail sounds attractive as opposed to having another obstruction above the deck. Do they provide enough light? Are they difficult to install? Thanks for any input.

They came on my new Puma. I havent fished with them but they are pretty bright. I would guess plenty bright enough to make your line glow.

I do a lot of night fishing at Lake Ozark and with all the big boat traffic it was hard to keep black lights secured to my gunnel. I installed 3 night stalking lightson each side close to the front and they work great. There not as bright as a black light but they offer a no hassel solution when your in dark areas. The darker the nightthe better they work.

Three (3) is the minimum we would suggest as DuramaxMan pointed out. We really like the use of six (6) per side for the better vision. They still are not as bright as the Stan Sloan blacklights, however you are no longer removing the to run and tripping on the cords all night. It takes a few trips to get used to those cords and often it will cost you a blacklight when you dunk one. The Nightstalkers are tucked up under the rub rail and they are not really in contact with anything except an occasional tree stump at that level. We have had no real issue with knocking one off.

I agree with dm, dark nights they are great. If you have any other light source moon, another boat, dock, etc they are not very effective. I have 20/14 vision and they work good for me but I have to break out the moon lights for my partners sometimes. Ease of use and no storage needed makes them worth while. Dark nights a Dale you will love them. Drive 25 miles up the rode to the damn at Cumberland and you cant even tell they are on. I have 4 on a side on my cougar ftd and use flo fc that is not as bright as mono. I thought all the boys down your way had switched to braid anyway to roll them big blades deep? The cool thing is you can use them all night and when your head hits the pillow and eyes shut you dont see a laser light show!!! I have a lot and fifth wheel at kendell if you want to see mine we could hook up. Dont know which end you are on but either way it would not be too difficult.
