We have received several questions as the the status of tournaments on Lake Norfork after the actions on pulling permits on Table Rock. The Corp of Engineers has verified that they have no intentions or pulling the permit for the Bass Cat Invitational. From their perspective the event will remain as scheduled. The dead line for any changes or announcements on the event from BCB is May 10th, pending further weather related issues.Presently we know others have questioned the ability to have the event and pending a fall in participation we are intent on moving forwards at this time. The lake is in excellent shape overall, just a little deeper than normal. BCBSee Pictures below: Quarry Marina from top of stairs for high water. August 2010Quarry Marina from stairs above. Good thing about high water = more places to fish! Fishing Truman lake it can be anywhere from 706 to 735 depending on the weather.
Why is it when I see the picture of the railing and concrete steps underwater, do I think of filling an aquarium…….slowly put water in so as to not disturb the rocks and formations?Ill bet that was pretty neat to watch the water at that end of the lake rise and still be clear.Seemed like in 2008 that the stained water had moved down lake just past Henderson by tournament time. My question is…How long does it typically take for the water clarity to clear up Norfork, using 2008 as an example? Back to its pristine self…….from upper end perspective. Not that I always fish up there(), but I always prefer a little less clarity……….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I was at Panther Bay Marina today, and it looks like The Mississippi, just as brown as can be
It will take about 10 days from the rain for the lake to be somewhat clearer. We have a few days to go, and the lower end will stay pretty clear.
The lake looks beautiful to me, should give varying degrees of clarity for your fishing preference. One thing about Norfork is there are a lot of ramps and easy to get around, during the tournament BCB usually has personnell at most ramps to assist in launching, this works here where in most places it would not, youll barely notice any difference, other than a new looking lake.Kudos to BCB.BAYOU BANDIT
I will be there. Sent in my entry fee last week. Wonder how many have signed up so far?
The high water will make that lake fish sooooo much bigger ! Its always good fishing, and beautiful. This will be my second year in a row not to make the event, last year i had a good excuse, this year i have another, well, two. Graduation from law school for Jeff, and my wifes 29th anniversary ! I actually tried to talk her into fishing,,,,,,didnt work !
Yeah Sam, been there when its been chocolate, done it when ultra clear. I like stained and fishing above the bridges is my typical. Just wondered fishing stained further down the lake this time as I would feel more comfortable rather than looking through glass.Doug, “my wifes 29th anniversary”? What up wit dat??? When is your anniversary?Told my son I may miss the high school state baseball tournament for this one………..after begging the wife to let me go. Dont think they will get far in tournament the way things are going at present. Same coachspeak every week, especially after a loss…”I want 9 players who want to play”, “pitchers all had better be ready”. Same 9, same pitching rotation. Non conference games theyre not concerned about. It will fish bigger, and I may explore down lake, but my home is clarity of 5 feet or less……….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
