Norfork trip

Hey Guys, I am going to Norfork Lake this weekend and staying a few days. I plan on meeting some relatives there from Missouri and fishing for stripers, bass, and walleye. I havent been there in over 20 years. I was wondering if I could get any tips about what is going on now on the lake. Has the lake turned over yet?Any areas better than others?Lures and presentation?Is night fishing any good?Any help would be much appreciated.2sport

Water temps. last weekend were 66 to 70 , depending on where youre at . — My best days have been spent back in the creeks ( BIG / BRUSHY ON LOWER END ) , or up in the bayou ( MIDDLE FORK OF THE LAKE ) — Best baits have been red colored crankbaits , and the fish have been right on the bank , out to about 10 foot . — Some turnover trying to show up in some areas , but the big one hasnt happened yet . — Youll have to wade through a bunch of small fish most days , but Ive had a couple of 4s and 5s here and there . — Stripers are back there too , and lots of fun on crankbaits !! — Had some fooster crappie grab it up as well . — Also heard the river ( UPPER END ) was good too , but have no personal experience to verify it . — My thumbs were raw Sunday , from lipping bass , and thats all I have to say about that !!

Thats exactly wat I used to ask the guys who were always saying ” WE WOREUM OUT THIS WEEKEND”. I would always say “SHOW ME YOUR THUMBS”. Just got off the phone with my on the water reporter !! — Crankbaits are kickin butt up the lake as well !! — My nephew is on the water as I write this post , and has caught and released 2 limits of keepers , with the biggest one between 4 and 5 lbs. — Caught bunches of just shorts too . — MAN !! — I wish I was out there too !! — 2sport , get ready for a SPECTACULAR weekend brother !!!!!!! — Mark

Basscatter, Just got back from my Norfork trip. We had a great time. The stripers didnt pan out with just a few small ones. The walleye didnt pan out with just a few small ones. BUT! The largemouth fishing was awesome. The red crank baits worked well the first day just like you said in shallow water up the creeks. I had to try a spook though in that shallow water and the spook bite was on. I had good fish blowing up on it pretty regularly. Some fish would hit it 5 times before I hooked them. Others would blow up on it and miss and they were gone. So I missed a bunch but I caught a bunch as well . It is the most exciting way to bass fish in my opinion. It was a consistent bite that lasted several days in the back of creeks and up the river. It made for exciting enjoyable days with my son. Probably the best spook fishing that I have ever done for bass.Thanks for helping me with some tips to get me started!2sport.
