YOU MUSTCHECK OUT THERE ACCORDING TO THE SPECIAL TIMES listed for DocShelton”. You will then be released to trailer to the weigh in at UmphreysPavilion. Driving time is not included in the days activity. Weigh in will end30 minutes constant delay, after last angler weighed, NO EXCEPTIONSoutside of rulings to delay activity by tournament director.”This was a quote from the OI registration info on launch sites. When we register do we declare where we will be leaving in the mornings? What are the Special Times for the “Doc Shelton” launch. Dont understand the statement Weigh in will end 30 minutes constant delay, Any help would be appreciated. We will be in Broddus and need to decide launch site. All that said, the weather could change how we play our hand.Last edited by pascatII on March 23rd, 2013, 9:53 pm, edited 1 time in total.
What that means is the last entrant to weigh in there will be a 30 minute delay waiting for any others to weigh. If one weighs within that 30 minute delay the thirty minutes start over.
PA I still dont get it?I assume thats because none of these “tanks” here in Arkansas are big enough for a drive to a weigh in?Does this buy the guys weighing in at Umphrey 30 extra minutes versus anyone from Doc Shelton that drives to Umphrey?I just assumed everyone should have their butts one way or another in the line at Umphrey at a certain time?C.O.D. Im not fishing in the OI unfortunately, but that rule makes no sense to me either. Looks like you would have a time to be at the weigh in site and that would be it. I dont get the 30 minute delay thing at all. Good thing Im not going to be there I guess.
The weigh in will close 30 minutes after there are no others in line to weigh, or 30 minutes after the last man weighs in. There are special times for Doc Shelton/ Cassell Boykin Ramp and those times will be given to those using that take off only. They will accommodate the time with earlier check in than Umphreys to keep fishing times even and considering locations up lake. The drive to Umphreys is about 35 minutes not pushing it, thus weigh in times will be consistent. Fishing times should be even under the present plan for those Fishing up river, whether they drive or boat to those locations. Which is a reason to use Cassell Boykin, as well as those who are staying in Lufkin. Our goal is to create a system that is fair on fishing time for all parties no matter the location they use for take off.
Uh what?
It really just means there will be a time sheet given that morning at Cassell Boykin which is good for that location and that day only. That way there will be no confusion on check in times. It is done the same every year on the scales closing. The weigh in times are length and can take over an hour after check in. Some folks hang back to be last. If your driving from Doc Shelton/Cassell Boykin then you have no reason to be in a hurry, though dont dally. The scales close at the first dead period of 30 minutes. If you are hanging back waiting to be last, just dont wait too long.
Is there a pre-tournament meeting where that will be explained, or is there just the registration times?
Just registration. There never has been a tournament meeting before starting.
My first OI, so I didnt know there wont be a meeting. I look forward to more details on the above at registration, since I have to admit I am still a little confused on how the alternate ramps will work. Like when do you have to declare what ramp you plan on using and if you have to use the same one for both days, etc. Im sure it will be clear after the face to face registration. I cant wait.
