Oil Cap/Sending unit question

I had to replace the cap on my 97 150 Opti engine oil reservoir. Is there any way to check and make sure the oiler is working? The reservoir was full when I opened it and but there was oil leaking out of the cap and when I tighted it it came apart so I bought a new one and replaced the cap. There are no alarms going off after I replaced the cap. Thanks

Just watch the level in the main reservoir and check you beeper when you turn the ignition switch. And if it beeps its probably working fine.

Thanks, I get the beeps when the switch is turned on and then it goes silent so I will just keep an eye on it.
