I would agree that your estimate is pretty darn close, clintb. I havent really tried to measure the usage, but it certainly is “thrifty” on the oil (and the gas for that matter). Merc did a great job on these engines IMHO. Before finalizing my decision on engines last spring, I studied them all very closely. To be honest, I was initially looking at the four-strokers until I studied the stats on all of them. I settled on the Pro XS.
