Please put in singular line format as shown below. No running paragraphs with thirteen thoughts. 1. If we were building your purrfect bass boat, what would you absolutely have to have on it. 2. What length and horsepower would it be 3. What price tag honestly would be your range 4. What item now on one would you not need and delete for any reason. 5. Any other item you might think of to add? 6. Would you be interested in an economy Sabre in a revised Day Tripper package with a 115 or 90 on it? (This will be a poll) Recently we built an 18 model and have a 90 Mercury on it. The Sabre Day Tripper has been offered for a few years and we are looking at models that will be in more demand as we pop out of this present economic situation. The market is pretty docile now ahead of boat shows and we would be interested in seeing how everyones feelings are. BCB Admin. Copy and paste for your ease! 1. Purrfect Basss Boat: 2. My dream for the new year. To find a decent job so that one day I can just get myself back in a boat again !!!
Bring back the Caracal 1. 17″6 90″beam just under 1,000 pounds 150hp limit 2. under 22k w/150. less depending on hp 3. 3″jack plate,single console,dual cable steering,70lb 24volt troller,gps/finder in-dash,finder upfront,basic guages,swing-away tongue,spare-tire,& e-ladder? I love my Sabre, but I would have ordered the above if it was available. John
197″ with 94.5″ beam = 225 HO/225 proXS Raised gunnels back again. Small space lateral to rod locker doors so my rods dont get tipped over when I open the box with rods on top. Puma bottom hull. Parachute to stop it cause it would run so strong.Last edited by clownshoes on December 21st, 2009, 11:43 pm, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D. Jr. III
Second for the Caracal it was a strong runner the only issues were the droop snoot a little different hull in the front to allow more flotation could correct this. I think 18-21000 would be about right. I currently have a cougar but the caracal would have fit in the garage. irv
Im still a relatively new Cougar FTD owner so I think the Cougar is the most perfect boat made for me. Beings we are dreaming…..What I would like to see differently; 1. I agree with ward, and i dont think anyone does this, If the rod storage locker lids were smaller, and there was a little deck space so the rods wouldnt fly off, or get crushed when opening the rod lockers, that would be awesome!!!! 2. Net storage, I like what phoenix did with a little door towards the front of the floorboard for the net. 3. I wish I could get a NEW Cougar FTD w/250 XS for 30K ( We are dreaming here arent we…..?) Thanks for asking!!!!!
1. solid gauge package w/ trim & wp, and above average electronics. 2. 19 – 225hp 3. 32-37K 4. Mid-Hull transducer. I want the transducer on the trolling motor, not 6 feet behind me. 5. a. Passenger rod ramp b. Space beside rod doors like Ward said. 6. Absolutely not. I have a Sabre w/ 150 and its the perfect boat for me. Its fast for an 18 boat and handles exceptionally well. The BCB moniker is “total performance” – and an anemic 90hp on a Sabre would hardly get out of its own way detracting from the brand. I know Stratos did this but Ive never seen one on the water.
1. P IV hull rated for 225. 2. Two rear fuel tanks @ 25 gal. 3. Passenger rod storage with lid (like the old Viper Cobra) running to the transom. 4. Day tackle storage and cooler same size as Puma. All this with a price tag under $40k……you did mention “Dreamer”!
1. Purrfect Basss Boat: Rod locker that handles 8 rods since the trend lately is 76″ – 8 one piece rods. Port side locker wider than starbord would work as well. 2. Length & HP: 186″ rated up to 175 3. Desired Price Tag: 28k plain to 32k heavy optioned, 4. Wish List: FTD rear style deck (smaller boxes, smaller triangular livewells, rear gas tanks (twin 20s?), underseat stoage and cooler) 5. Nice Item to add: Twin storage up front to console with no step up cooler 6. Do Without Item: Third seat pin post in center of boat. (This is basically a baby cougar FTD)Your Signature …
1. Purrfect Basss Boat: Caracal/Eyra combo 2. Length & HP: 17-18 foot with 150 (175 with enough beam)-beam forward design similar to upper end boats 3. Desired Price Tag: 24-28K(with “goodies”) 4. Wish List: Speed/performance of Caracal with big water “Great Lakes” performance of Eyra—passenger rod ramp/glove box like Eyra. Triangular livewell between seats and twin 23gal fuel tanks. FTD deck with step up cooler, under seat storage 5. Nice Item to add: Hydraulic steering, mid level Hbirds(even 900 series), optional hydraulic jackplate, water psi gauge part of standard gauge package, second pedestal mount on front deck for big water days. 6. Do Without Item: Rod storage racks(I use the rod”socks”), battery gauge at bow panel, on board charger. Thanks for asking!Last edited by jignpig on December 22nd, 2009, 2:51 pm, edited 1 time in total.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
