I’m looking for a little input… when I ordered my boat (Dec 9) the Solix 10 was set to be released in January. Because it wasn’t out it was not an option on the boat. So I told my dealer that if it was possible I’d like to get a Solix since it would have been released at the time my boat was completed (10-12 weeks later). I made sure to tell him if the Solix 10 was NOT an option to just leave it as the base model or whatever comes standard and I’d get the Solix on my own. He used a Helix 10 SI as a “placeholder” to get the price close to correct but I did not want the Helix. Anyways the boat came in and I went to check it out and there is no Solix instead a Helix 10… The guy who took my order no longer works there so it’s hard for me to blame the guy working there now. He wasn’t really involved. My question is, do you guys think I should just stick with the Helix? Is it a nice enough unit that I will be happy with it? I was really pumped about the Solix and I’m also paying close to $1400 for a unit I didn’t really want… just wondering if I will be happy with the Helix or if I’ll regret not trying to get the Solix. Seems to me youve put out a lot of money and someone dropped the ball on electronics or misunderstood the request. However you do have two working units. Being happy/satisfied with what you have is up to you. Not having a touchscreen would not be my main reason for changing now

I love my Helix Mega G2N units. You can always sell the Helix units as most used units, especially the G2N Mega ones, seem to get snatched up pretty quickly. You have to be happy with your rig. If your heart was set on getting the Solix, then go for it and sell the Helix to recoup some money. Personally, I would use the Helix for a couple trips. If you find it lacking the features or functionality you desire of the Solix, then upgrade. If the Helix will do everything you want, then you saved yourself some money. I would not pay $1400 for something I did not want or ordered. If it is not in writing looks like you are stuck with it. I always make sure I get everything in writing no matter how small the detail.

Ive got the Helix 9 DI on the console , and it does more than I can figure out . — Excellent unit , but if you paid for a Solix , Id talk to the dealer about rectifying the problem . — He is ultimately responsible for what his employees do after all . — As a business owner myself , I would take care of my customer FIRST …… Just my humble opinion . — Mark

I picked the Solix 10 over a Helix. — with the layers of menus – and massive flexibility in how you can use it, I could not imagine not having the touch screen.
