05 BCat Cougar 225Vmax 24vBuying a new Fortrex 80#. My batteries are about due to be replaced so I think I might do them now too.Trying to decide which Batteries to buy… I fish a few times per week, and 2 tournaments per month. Ill spend the money on the Optima if theyre really worth it…. or should I buy something else?

Sears Platinum 1 batteries made by Odyssey for $100 cheaper. Amazing batts

Thanks for the tip. They seem to be in the same price range as the Optima though… $240 on the sears site unless Im looking at the wrong ones.Last edited by jhhooper2 on July 12th, 2010, 4:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Thanks jignpig… If I go the bluetop optima way Id be looking at 3 of the D27M batteries?Right now I have (2) 27DC-6 and (1) 24DP-4 Everstart that came with the boat when I got it.I just want to make sure I buy the right ones, especially if Im going to drop $750 on 3 batteries!

Im running 2 group 31 blue top optimas for my 80 Fortrex on my PIV and they are holding up great and last all day. I run the biggest Sears Platinum for my starting battery, it runs my livewells, a Lowrance HDS10, HDS7 and 2 Structure Scan units with no issues. If you get Optimas, buy the biggest ones (31 series). Mike
