Im looking to upgrade from my older cat to a later model used cat. I would love to have a pro xs but am also looking at a few boats with an optimax. Can someone fill me in on the differences? The main thing Im wondering about is what I would be giving up if I went with a boat that had an optimax vs the same a boat with the same horsepower pro xs.Thanks in advance for any help.Jason Ferbrache – Edmond, OK 1995 Basscat Eyra
On the 200 the only difference is the decal. There are differences in the other versions and those vary with horse power.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on August 2nd, 2012, 3:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.
BCB is right and there is 3 pages of reading about this subject here.http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/199 … -XS?page=1BCB, I read over on BBC that the 200 ProXs is the same all the other ProXss as of February 2012. Have you heard the same? http://www.bbcboards.net/basscat-boats/ … -xs-2.htmlLast edited by GRR884 on August 2nd, 2012, 3:26 pm, edited 3 times in total.
No, this is incorrect. There is absolutely no difference in the standard 200 Opti and the newer 200 Pro XS motors. These always produced 220 horsepower and they are already maxed out on ponies. Simply a decal other than one extremely minor modification made in programming.
Thanks for the response and the link. Ill catchup on my reading – I missed that thread in my search on in the FAQ so thanks againJason Ferbrache – Edmond, OK 1995 Basscat Eyra
BCB,I have a buddy who just re powered his Ranger and has a 2012 200 PRO XS,this motor now has a three star emission rating like the 225 and 250s.What did they do to the motor to get the new rating?I have a 2010 PIV 200 PRO XS and it is a 2 star engine.Curious to know what the difference now is to get that rating.
