Ok sorry for the newbie questions but I have two 1.What exactly are the sc1000 commanders gauges 2.What are flush mount controls Thanks, MudDukk
SC1000 are Mercury Smart Craft gauges. Commander gauges are either Evinrude or Yamaha gauges. Either are multi-function digital gauges compared against analog gauges which have been around for decades. Flush mount controls (gear shift / throttle) are either flush mounted where only the handle is showing or not flush mounted which has not only the handle but the entire control box showing.
I was right on the flush mount.I just misunderstood the options.I searched sc1000 commanders forever….Thanks again.
Phil has given you the answers. The gauges are Analog style Admiral Series, or some form of Digital such as Smart Craft, Command Link or Evinrides version of those. Most all control boxes are flush mounted today, though we use only the engine companies control boxes, harnesses, ignitions, cables or Gauges.
Another dumb question. What batteries come with the boat ?
There are no dumb questions, and thats what this site is all about is helping people. I know somebody will either confirm what Im going to say or straighten me out, but I believe the batteries will be placed by whatever dealer you go through and whatever they handle will be put in the boat.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console

Toledobasser is right…whatever your dealer carries is what is put in them normally. If you want a specific brand most dealers will work with you on that though. Judd Lasiter
That would be correct, as batteries are a dealership item. Some prefer to work with Interstate, some GNB (Gould), a few Trojan, others Exide, Continental, Pro Guide or whomever. We would personally see what the dealership carries and spec out our own personal selection of that brand or make a selection off site at another retail location of a battery that offers the best power source. The batteries are the most underestimated and one of if not THE most important to your Satisfaction! So make a good choice on batteries and do your research there. We have a listing of ideas on our FAQ section. It does not cover all brands, though all we could put our paws on reliably. There are not stupid questions on this site. We want to answer each one with the best information and give each consumer the best possible experience we can provide. We are human, as its the boat owner and we will both make our mistakes. If the mistake is a BCB mistake we will try to always work our way through it. Our goal here is to reduce those errors and misunderstandings for all involved. No stupid questions are possible in those situations. BCB BCB (no stupid errors either)
No stupid questions are possible in those situations. Haha….not to be insulting, but you dont know me.Trust me. Never bought a new boat before and its a little intimidating.Trying to figure out the colors has been a nightmare. That color selector definitely helps, but I know that it doesnt do the actual boat justice. Not blowing smoke up anyones rear, but Ive been visiting this site for awhile and have known for the last few years that it would either be another Ranger or a Basscat or Triton…..The last year Ive not really considered anything over than the Cat. For me the main considerations were quality, customer service and then performance…I would say Basscat fills the bill quite nicely from what ive heard and read. MuddDukk
Not blowing smoke up your rear, but Ive owned and used the other boats that youve considered and Bass Cat is better built, performs better, and will provide you a better overall experience with ownership! Good luck with all your decisions!
