Right now its 5-6 weeks and normally less time. They will be reducing the backlog by middle of next week. The time should go down significantly.
Its there…It comes ready to install. http://www.basscatstore.com/singleaxlefender.aspx
I believe I read that you guys glue the fenders on, will the new one install the same way or bolt in? Thank you for the quick response.Purchased new 5/4/15Bass Cat Sabre Vision EliteMercury Pro XS 150MotorGuide 75lb Tour EditionHumminbird – Stock (will be changing soon I hope)
Being under mine several times. I seen a few bolts and some urethane glue as well. Ive worked with the the urethane a few times in the past. From my experience a little heat from a heat gun and a thin flexible putty knife will generally cut thru the glue. Where the glue is present should be easily noticeable. It will be oozed out around where the glue is applied. You can apply a little pressure with a floor jack and a cut 2×4 (for surface area) to add a little upward pressure as your cutting thru the glue.Ive never removed one of these fenders but I would imagine it will be somewhat of a pain. Just take your time. Use a old sheet, quilt or etc. Between the fender and the boat for protection of the boat.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Ive had to remove one in the past, we wont get into way. Not to bad of a job. You will have a few bolts that hold it on to frame and some nasty glue holding step areas on to some metal pads coming off of frame. You have to heat those pads up until the glue lets loose. Hint this will not happen with a blow dryer LOL. Lift up on fender at heat site while heating and it will pop loose when glue lets loose. If I remember right theres three places you have to heat up. Make sure you clean pads really good before replacing new fender. That includes on fender. Also make sure you have Basscat send glue with fender. Heat metal pads from underneath they may start turning red on you before the fender lets loose. Number one thing be careful!!! Put down a nice even amount of glue on pads when putting on new fender.
Some one on this board suggested making a garrote out of some large dowel and stainless wire when I needed to separate one section of my fender. The others had already separated and just wanted to clean it all up good and reattach it. The garrote worked like a charm……no heating necessary. After you get your fender off, to remove the old adhesive, one of those razor blade windshield scrapers will do that job nicely. Its not a difficult job at all. I do suggest clamping your new fender in place as this has worked well for me on the couple cats that I have owned and I believe the factory is clamping when installing. If you have a harbor freight nearby, they have a deep C clamp that worked well for me. I used some 1X spacers to get those positioned correctly. Take a photo with your smartphone of the wiring to the tail light to get it reinstalled correctly. Good luck with your project.
A garrote made out of 1/16″ cable from tractor supply and a floor jack with a 2×4 block helped me out when I pulled my fender.
Thanks for the advice guys…BCB – Ill place an order ASAP for the fender. White single axle for 14 Sabre, starboard side.Purchased new 5/4/15Bass Cat Sabre Vision EliteMercury Pro XS 150MotorGuide 75lb Tour EditionHumminbird – Stock (will be changing soon I hope)
