Maybe it’s my imagination but it seems that there are far fewer posts on this web site than ever before. Could it be the fact that the “log in” and posting is similar to being drug through a knot hole. An application of the “KISS” principle bears looking at here.
Of all the Info management information folks that have worked for me over the years, most had one thing in common…… they wanted to show off their ability to confuse the common Joe. This web site is a perfect example; some common sense needs to be applied. For example, sign with my American Express web site (where I have unlimited credit) and my savings and loan are far easier to access than this one. So is facebook and any other that I can think of.
My two cents worth.
My laptop and IPhone auto fill everything when I log in. Been a very simple process for me.
I believe a large amount of the BCB owner traffic is now using the BCB Facebook owners group. Its has a very large following which is great. The downside is its next to impossible for BCB to moderate it.
Like Cajunhunter67, my iPad keeps me logged in and when I do get kicked out, it autofills so the transition has been easy. I know the knothole deal though. You should come to my work, if you want to see an IT bully beat down. Two logins and a secret decoder ring. Shameful.
I know off topic. But I’d like to see a feature like on BBC where you can click and go to the first new post in a topic. The old owners board automatically did it as well. At least I haven’t seen it on this board on any of my devices.
I been a member for awhile on this board. This board just simply DONT have the activity it had when i first became a member. I personally dont even have a facebook account. Maybe im just old school. I do believe most activity is on facebook for bcb. I never even seen any mention of the owners invitational on the owners board. When i first joined it seemed everytime you opened the forum up there was 2 or 3 new post or responses to old post. Lately i have seen times where it would go a couple days without any action. I dont think its the new forum or the security code even though its a little aggravating at times. It simply facebook. Oh well im just one voice! Facebook just not my style.
If your logged in the unread posts should populate first.
We continue to request people use the Owners Board rather than Facebook. We get dozens of messages with one same question already answered here and documented.
Retraining the 20’s and 30’s age anglers on forums is most likely not going to happen and Facebook is not what a forum posts and record is.
We can’t follow the posts on the Owners Group in Facebook without hours of work. It is not our site and it is becoming a problem for us also.

I haven’t seen this. To read new posts, seems you have to scroll from top to bottom of posts again.

I haven’t seen this either. It is the “main reason” that this forum is difficult to browse through. I think this should be the first thing to fix on the software.
Just to clarify, not the posts (topics) on the main page. Those are newest first. I’m logged in and haven’t had it go to the first new post.
For example in this series of posts what I’m posting now should be the last one I read before I leave this topic. The other site will bring me to the next post after this one since it will be the first one I haven’t read. Right now if I click on the topic title it goes to the original post and I click the name/time of the last post it goes to the last post in the series. What the other sites had done was if there was 7 posts on a topic the last time I read it and now it has 10 posts it will start me at #8 since that is where the new starts. It helps for long posts or ones brought up over a long period of time. But at least I know others are seeing the same thing. Not complaining just a nice thing to have.
I am constantly answering questions on the Facebook site by referencing this owners site. I often see owners (Facebook) copy Rick Pierce into a conversation to get his input. I don’t believe they understand he has moderators on this site, and the BBC site to assist owners.
Facebook is the main reason for the downturn of traffic on this owners site. Its a shame because 90 percent of their questions can be answered on here with a simple search.
Site improvements? What Ricochet15 said!
There is a lot of bad info on Facebook. And that is where most seem to seek info.

You are so right, and since facebook isn’t monitored by Basscat, those asking have trouble separating the good and bad info.
